Helen Schulz, Special Education Support / Response to Intervention

I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.  I have been dedicated to serving children since 1991. I believe that all children have the ability to learn and be successful given time, encouragement, confidence, and specific learning skills.  I am certified in Collaborative Literacy Intervention Project (CLIP), a method used to teach early readers.  I have also completed the first phase of LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), and Intel Math for teachers.  Through my training and experiences, I have developed several effective teaching methods, and continue to gain new strategies to enhance the learning of each individual student.

I have worked at Mountain School since 2003 as a classroom and Response to Intervention teacher. I’m excited to support children individually, as well as in the classroom.  I feel fortunate to be working with wonderful children and staff here at Mountain School. I am committed to implementing the best teaching and learning practices for all students’ academic and personal success.
