Angie Allen, Reading Specialist/ Special Education Support

Hi, my name is Angie Allen. I have been with Mountain School since 1992 and I often call it home. I helped write the charter and have thoroughly enjoyed the evolution of this unique and dynamic school. I have been in education for 30 years and have taught preschool all the way up to high school. I received my BA in English from the University of Oklahoma. I moved to California and attended the University of California Irvine to receive my limited Masters in Education (K-12) with an ESL endorsement. After moving to Flagstaff, I became certified in the Collaborative Literacy Intervention Project (CLIP), Arizona Leadership, DIBELS assessment testing, the Barton System (an Orton Gillingham approach for dyslexia) and Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars and LIPS program certifications. The experiences and the knowledge I have received from the students I work with has far exceeded any credential I hold. Individualizing instruction for each child is paramount. I count my lucky stars each and every day for being so privileged to work side by side with such an amazing crew at Mountain School. I am a recent published author of a children’s book and still learning as I go. I love my job! I care!
