I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Liz Thomas and I am going to be the new Kindergarten/First grade teacher this coming August in the 2018/2019 school year. (YAY!) I am extremely excited to start this journey with you and your child as it is my first year teaching and I have so many exciting ideas for the upcoming year.
I am originally from Colorado and I moved to Flagstaff for college where I graduated in December 2017 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. I have been substitute for Mountain School and FUSD during the Spring semester. I have worked in many different classrooms ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth grade to a cross-categorical self-contained classroom for my student teaching. After experiencing so much, I have really fallen in love with the K-3rd grade classrooms!
I love going on vacation anywhere with a beach, the ocean, and the warm sun. I also really love winter sports and love to go skiing and snowboarding when we have a good season here in Flagstaff, so I’m always praying for snow to come in the winter! I also have taken up gardening and am learning how to plant vegetables and am really hoping I can teach this skill to my students as well. A few dreams I have are to visit Ireland, learn Spanish, and learn more sign language.
