Happy summer to all of my 2nd and 3rd graders. I am really looking forward to meeting you all! My name is Hannah Hall and I am new to Mountain School this year.
This summer I am moving to Flagstaff from Cortez, CO. Between packing boxes, running a summer camp, and changing classrooms, it has been a busy summer for me. Despite being busy, it does excite me thinking about all of the new places I will get to explore and all of the new people I will soon meet in Flagstaff. I’m hoping to discover some new spots to camp, backpack, hike, and climb. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and I went to Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA for my undergraduate degree.
I’ve spent the last 3 years teaching (3rd-6th grade) at a multiage public charter outside of Cortez, CO, Battle Rock Charter School. Prior to that, I was teaching hands-on sustainable agriculture classes at a middle school and working at a homeless shelter in Cortez. I am currently in my final year of my Masters in Education through Western Colorado University.
This summer, I was lucky to have the opportunity to participate in a Multiage Training with Dr. Sandra Stone from NAU. This training left me feeling inspired and excited to transfer many of these ideas into my own 2nd/3rd grade classroom this year. I look forward to integrating multiage centers and multiage Language Arts learning processes into my daily routine. I would be more than happy to share what I have learned about multiage education as the year progresses.
I can’t wait to hear stories from summer break on the first day of school, Thursday, August 8th, 2019. Please read over the supply list and come prepared on the first day of school with a water bottle, backpack, lunch, and a healthy snack. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions! email@example.com.
Can’t wait to see you all soon!
