Homework Club

Description: Staff available for your child to get help with their daily homework

Day/Time/Location: Mondays – Thursdays, 3:15-4:15, Gym

Period: 8/14/17-end of school year

Grades: 2, 3, 4, 5

Lego Club

Description: Lego Club at Mountain School is not a traditional afterschool builders program.  It is designed to foster imagination and creativity without crushing imaginative freedom. This program will develop fine motor skills and adaptive object/special awareness through structured learning, environmental models and basic kinetics.  We encourage builders of all skill sets to join our 10-week program.

Day/Time/Location: Mondays OR Wednesdays (you choose one), 3:15-4:15, Ms. Anna’s K/1 Classroom

Period: March 5 (for 10 weeks)

Description: Choir is for 3rd-5th grade students who love music, singing and performing. We learn the value of working together and being a team. We build confidence, learn about stage presence, and we learn how to sing.

Gardening and Sustainability Club

Description: We will build community through gardening and sustainability knowledge and experiences, allowing minds to grow in a positive and constructive environment.

Art Club

Description: If you love art but wish we had more time for it, then this club is for you! Some of the activities will include, clay, jewelry-­ making, fiber crafts, painting, papier-­maché and much more!

Craft Club

Description: Attention students in grades K-2: If you love being crafty and creative, craft club is for you! We will be using a variety of materials and techniques to create a fun craft each week. Snacks, materials, and fun are provided!

News Club

Description: News Club is a club for fourth and fifth graders interested in learning about how a newspaper is written and published. We publish a monthly newspaper for school events called Mountain School News. Students are assigned leads, conduct interviews, and complete research to write our paper.

Day/Time/Location: Wednesdays, 3:15-4:30, Ms. Ashley’s 4/5 classroom

Spanish Club

Description: Spanish club focuses on engaging activities in a smaller group setting that enhance what is being taught in the classroom.  All four components of language (speaking, writing, listening and reading) will be covered by means of art, drama, cooking, outdoor play, excursions and Spanish-speaking games.

Mountain Lions Chess Club

Description: Mountain Lions Chess Club is a coaching program designed to build our confidence, hone our Chess skills and to develop comradeship.  As our problem solving skills and knowledge of the game improve through practice, we are prepared to compete at Chess tournaments.

Day/Time/Location: Thursdays, 3:00-4:00, Ms. Sarah’s 2/3 Classroom

Drama Club

Description: Drama Club is a club for fourth and fifth graders interested in the different aspects of drama. We perform storytelling and poetry interpretations, complete readers’ theaters, and act in and write our own plays.
