My name is Christie Newman and I have the privilege to teach Kindergarten at Mountain Charter School. I want to inspire the children to have a love for learning and a heart for others.

I graduated in 1996 with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. I moved to College Station, Texas where I taught mathematics for 1½ years. Then I moved to beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona and became a stay at home mom for several years. After volunteering in my child’s Pre-Kindergarten classroom, I fell in love with the atmosphere at Mountain School and the wonderful staff and students. I became an aide in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom in the 2004-2005 school year. In 2005-2006, I became the head teacher for Pre-Kindergarten, and then the following year I co-taught Fourth grade with Marsha Thompson.

My name is Christie Newman and I have the privilege to teach the Fourth grade at Mountain Charter School. I want to inspire the children to have a love for learning and a heart for others.

This year I am very happy to be teaching Kindergarten as a team class with Jacquie Kortas.
